Rajasthan Heritage Tour – A 12-Day Private Journey Through Royal India

Day 1: Delhi – The Historic Capital
The journey began in Delhi, where ancient monuments like Qutub Minar, India Gate, and Humayun’s Tomb set the tone. A rickshaw ride through the chaos of Chandni Chowk and a visit to Jama Masjid reminded me why Delhi is a fascinating mix of old and new.
Day 2: Mandawa – Art on Every Wall
Next stop, Mandawa – known as the open-air art gallery of Rajasthan. The havelis here are adorned with colorful frescoes and traditional artwork. Walking through the narrow alleys was like stepping into a living museum.
Tip: Don’t skip a local guided walk to learn the meaning behind the murals!
Day 3: Bikaner – Forts and Camels
In Bikaner, I explored the beautifully preserved Junagarh Fort. I also visited the National Research Centre on Camel, where I saw different camel breeds and even tried camel milk ice cream!
Day 4-5: Jaisalmer – The Golden City
Arriving in Jaisalmer was like entering a fairytale. The living fort is home to shops, homes, and temples. I also rode a camel at the Sam Sand Dunes, watched the sunset over the desert, and enjoyed traditional Rajasthani music and dance.
Day 6: Lodurva – Ancient Temples and Peace
Close to Jaisalmer, Lodurva is home to ancient Jain temples made from yellow sandstone. The carvings here are stunning, and the peaceful vibe made this one of my favorite quiet moments on the tour.
Day 7: Jodhpur – The Blue City
Mehrangarh Fort stands tall over Jodhpur, offering panoramic views of the blue-painted city below. The local market near Clock Tower was full of spices, textiles, and handmade goods—perfect for souvenir shopping.
Day 8: Ranakpur – The Marble Wonder
Before reaching Udaipur, I stopped at the Ranakpur Jain Temple, known for its 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars. It’s peaceful, spiritual, and incredibly photogenic.
Day 9: Udaipur – Romance and Lakes
Udaipur, the city of lakes, was one of the most romantic stops. I enjoyed a boat ride on Lake Pichola, visited the City Palace, and explored local markets full of handicrafts, paintings, and silver jewelry.
Day 10: Pushkar – Sacred and Soulful
Pushkar is known for the Brahma Temple and its holy lake. The spiritual vibe, with ghats and chants, was deeply calming. I also loved browsing through cafes and colorful shops along the narrow lanes.
Day 11: Jaipur – The Royal Capital
Jaipur, the Pink City, was full of grandeur. I rode an elephant at Amber Fort, took photos at Hawa Mahal, explored the City Palace, and visited Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory that still amazes scientists today.
Day 12: Agra – The Final Showstopper
Last but not least, I reached Agra to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise—a magical moment that truly touched my heart. I also visited Agra Fort, which is rich in Mughal history and architecture.
