Lord Krishna

Born in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India, Krishna was the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudeva. His birth coincided with a momentous event that took place in the heavens. There was a great clash between the forces of good and evil and all the gods were on the side of good. Indra, the king of the gods, was leading the charge against the demons. The demons were led by a powerful demon named Kamsa.

Krishna’s birth was the result of a pact between Devaki and Vasudeva, who were imprisoned by Kamsa. The pact was that Vasudeva would hand over all of his future children to Kamsa, in exchange for Kamsa sparing Devaki’s life. Krishna was the eighth child born to Devaki and Vasudeva, and so he was the eighth child to be handed over to Kamsa.
